Judith Steele Elementary School
One Team, One Dream, One Goal
Administration
My name is Jennifer Gerber and I am so proud to serve as your principal at Judith Steele Elementary School. I was born here in Las Vegas and also attended the Clark County School District! As a teacher, I have taught 1st , 3rd and 4th grade. I have also served as a reading interventionist for second language students here in the valley. In addition, I have been an administrator since 2009, working with both students and staff who continue to amaze me each and every day. During my administrative career, I have focused mainly on helping students find their voice and learn to take ownership of their achievements and responsibility for their choices. I am looking forward to seeing our students shine throughout this year!
Keeping it in the education family, I married my husband, Matt, who is a local high school Physics teacher and a head football coach. Together, we are raising two amazing daughters named Addison and Emilyn. Both love to dance and keep us on our toes. When we aren’t at dance competitions or cheering on the Aggies at a Friday night football game, you can find us enjoying all that Las Vegas has to offer or spending time with our wonderful friends and family.
I truly believe that all students can achieve when they are given a clear roadmap and support and encouragement along the way. We are stronger when those around us believe in us and are waiting in the wings to celebrate our accomplishments. My goal is to help our young scholars feel like every day has the potential to be amazing and that each of them are just one step away from greatness!
I am excited and honored to be a part of the Steele Family and I’m eager to work with all of the students and families. My philosophy is that ALL students can achieve if they are given the proper guidance, support and care. Together, we can continue to achieve academic excellence and have fun along the way.
I was born in Boston, MA but grew up in a very small town in Arizona. Las Vegas has been my home since 1997 and I have worked for CCSD for 27 years. In this time, I’ve held positions in kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, library and assistant principal. My husband, my three grown children and my six grandchildren are the light of my life and we enjoy getting together for cookouts and family gatherings.
I am extremely humbled and excited to work at such a dedicated school and I look forward to a great school year as a Stallion.
I am beyond excited to be home! I was at Steele for 8 years as a teacher and librarian. I’m returning after 2 years at Canarelli. Steele is my home and I’m looking forward to learning and growing as an administrator.
As a Vegas local, I graduated from Clark High School and earned my undergraduate degree in elementary education from UNLV in 2007 and immediately began teaching in Las Vegas. In 2012 I earned my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and in 2015 I began teaching the ARL program at SNU.
After five years of teaching at the collegiate level, I knew I wanted to lead teachers, schools, and communities to achieve academic excellence. I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from SNU and in 2022 I went through the CCSD Leadership Academy.
This will be my second year as an administrator but my 11th year in the community I live in and love! I look forward to working with an amazing team of leaders, educators, families, and, most importantly-KIDS! I know we all can grow. It is my educational philosophy that ALL kids can learn, it is our responsibility as a community to help them reach their potential!
